AMADE travelled to the Philippines to visit its local partner ACAY.
During their stay, the teams were able to visit the Molave Youth Home, the new detention centre for minors built by Manila’s city council.
This establishment hopes to be exemplary and would like to strengthen its collaboration with ACAY Missions Philippines, with respect to the second-chance programme, an initiative in favour of the rehabilitation and reinsertion of young minors in conflict with the authorities.
On this occasion, our secretary general accompanied by Her Excellency Michèle Boccoz, the Ambassador for France to the Philippines, inaugurated the new wing of the reception centre for young women who are victims of abuse, dedicated to professional training with a view to their socioprofessional integration. Since the creation of the School of Life in 2016 by AMADE, eighty-seven young women have taken advantage of this initiative and are now autonomous.
AMADE is delighted with the welcome they received from the Philippines authorities and for the opportunity to measure the impact of this collaboration initiated ten years ago.
