MONACO: Opening of AIDA Association's 2017 Cultural Season

On Thursday 30th March 2017, the opening ceremony of the 2017 Cultural Season of the Monegasque AIDA association was held at the Opera Gallery in Monaco, with the exhibition "Passions Exotiques de la Belle Epoque".

The association AIDA, founded in 2015 by Mykhailo Kulyniak and Calypso de Sigaldi, is dedicated to demonstrating the impact of artistic creation on the perception that everyone has of the world around him, proposing events that revisit the "History of art, in ways that create the link between the inspiration of yesterday and the spirit of today.
For its 2017 cultural season, AIDA proposes to examine the Orientalist and Japanese trends of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and their major impact on Western artistic creation.

Classical painters, impressionists, symbolists, illustrators, sculptors, architects, musicians, choreographers, dancers, fashion designers... All were influenced by the new aesthetics coming from the East and the Far East to reinvent Western creation and lay the foundations of contemporary art, through trends such as Art Nouveau, Art & Craft and soon Art Deco.

The exhibition "Exotic Passions of the Belle Epoque" unites major artists such as Monet, Van Gogh or Klimt with fashion designers such as Paul Poiret and Jeanne Paquin, the glassmakers Emile Gallé and René Lalique or the Impressionist American painter William Merrit-Chaze, founder of the prestigious New York School of Applied Arts, the Parsons School.

The exhibition, featuring 28 emblematic artists from Orientalism and Japan, is organized around six main themes: Classical, Symbolist and Impressionist painters, Fashion and Advertising, Art & Craft, Illustration, Music and World show. It immerses its visitors in the creative dynamic of an era where art is freed from the constraints of classicism in an imaginative and festive surge.

AIDA proposes to the elegant Monegasques to take over the practice, through the operation "Your portrait master painting", by ordering out of the 23 paintings presented in the exhibition, for the benefit of AMADE, a cliché Photographic inspired by the painting of their choice.
From March to the end of July 2017, anyone wishing to participate in this project can register, by booking their photo shooting date with L'AMADE or AIDA, through a donation of € 1,500 paid to The World AMADE. An individual shoot, surrounded by a team of fashion photography professionals, will be organized in September, for shots that will be officially presented to their happy owners during a new exhibition, presented in early November 2017.

The exhibition "Exotic Passions of the Belle Epoque" will be open to the public from 3 to 20 July 2017, in the "Interview" show of the Novotel Monte-Carlo.
