Partners' Conference - AMADE brings together members of its ecosystem: associations and social entrepreneurs, corporate sponsors, philanthropists, and foundations, around the theme "Mobilizing Communities to Amplify Impact: A Sustainable Approach to Supporting Children."
A day of discussion and sharing focused on education and impact measurement, featuring presentations from our partners:
"Stakeholders in the Monegasque Ecosystem Supporting Education in Burundi" with:
- Spès Nihangaza, legal representative of FVS Amis des Enfants Burundi, an association working to protect children's rights, strengthen household economies, provide psychosocial support for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), promote health, and combat HIV/AIDS. AMADE has collaborated with FVS Amis des Enfants for many years on protecting children's rights and providing care and education for orphans and vulnerable children. Virginie Bernard, Director of CSR at CFM Indosuez Wealth Management, a private bank in Monaco and patron of AMADE, funding scholarships in Burundi through AMADE.
- Julien Siri, Division Head at the International Cooperation Department of the Princely Government of Monaco.
- Florida Ikizakubuntu, a third-year medical student in Burundi and beneficiary of projects supported by AMADE. Her moving testimony illustrated the concrete impact of AMADE's programs, sharing how this support enabled her to access education and pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.
AMADE and Impact: The Example of MindLeaps
Rebecca Davis, Executive Director of MindLeaps, presented this US-based organization, which works in developing countries to improve educational outcomes and create positive livelihoods for at-risk youth. MindLeaps uses a standardized dance methodology to help out-of-school children transform their behavior, catch up on cognitive development, and acquire professional skills. Rebecca Davis also shared MindLeaps' impact measurement methodologies, including digital monitoring and evaluation tools to quantify children's progress.
Presentation of the show "Rassemble! From Juvenile Prison to the Stage"
The morning concluded with the presentation of the show "Rassemble!", a story about the life journey of Rayane Tourki, a young man from Marseille who, after crossing paths with the ACAY association, went from the cells of the Marseille Juvenile Prison to the stage, alongside Paul Dewandre, known in particular for his play "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus."
The afternoon was structured around three key moments:
A first roundtable discussion on "Social Entrepreneurship, the Private Sector, and Impact Serving Children and Their Communities," which brought together:
- Emilie Kyedrebeogo, founder and president of Palobdé Afrique, a social enterprise based in Burkina Faso that produces washable and reusable sanitary pads made from local cotton fabric (Faso Danfani). AMADE is collaborating with Palobdé on a project promoting menstrual hygiene management among internally displaced girls and women in the Centre-Nord and Centre regions of Burkina Faso.
- Alice Petetin, Program Manager at Investisseurs & Partenaires, an impact investment group dedicated to financing and supporting SMEs and startups in sub-Saharan Africa. Coumba Diop, kiosk operator for the Yéré Network, a last-mile distribution network for access to energy, drinking water, and digital technology developed by AMADE and its implementing partner, Le Partenariat.
A second roundtable entitled "Integrating the Community to Maximize Impact on Children" featured:
- Flavio Saudade, Founder and Executive Director of Gingando pela Paz, an AMADE partner organization that uses capoeira as a tool to protect child victims of armed violence in Brazil, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and France.
- Michel Ouoba, Director of the Governance and Culture of Peace Department at the NGO Tin Tua, a partner of AMADE's "A Civil Status for All" program in Burkina Faso.
A Testimonial on "The Mentoring System: Developing Institutional Partnerships to Maximize Impact"
This panel, focused on the Child Welfare Services mentoring system, brought together:
- Natacha Rausa, Project Manager at the Alpes-Maritimes Department.
- Valérie Daher, Executive Director of Break Poverty Foundation.
- Mourad Remili, Executive Director of the Les Ombres association.
- Eva Jaksic, Remote Mentoring Development Officer for AFEV.
The speakers presented the impact of mentoring on young people placed in ASE, as well as the progress made.
