A rose for the Dignity of Women

On April 20th, the association Les Amis du Liban and AMADE organized a special evening at the Salle Belle Époque of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, dedicated to childhood and access for girls to secondary education, priority of the program "Dignity for Women" supported by AMADE.

During this evening, the name of a new rose variety created by Rosier Meilland was auctioned. This rare lot, created a strong emulation among the present donors and was won by a resident Monegasque philanthropist, particularly sensitive to the cause of childhood.

The rose "Camille Alicia Kateryna" now symbolizes this commitment to childhood and education.

The donor, surrounded by his wife and one of his daughters, to whom he wished to dedicate this unique rose, proceeded on October 28, 2019 to the planting of a massif of this new variety within the Princess Grace of Monaco Rose Garden.

Present at this intimate event, the representatives of AMADE and Friends of Lebanon, the Department of Equipment, Environment and Urbanism and Mr Matthias MEILLAND without whom this initiative could not have been see the day.

Note that all funds raised during this evening will allow:

    The creation of a joint AMADE / Les Amis du Liban social fund within the Rafik Hariri Hospital for children hospitalized in neonatology and oncology services in Lebanon;
    The schooling of 300 children in Al Awde camp hosting Syrian refugees in the Bekaa plain;
    The continuation of the "Dignity for Women" program promoted by AMADE in Niger to promote access to secondary education for girls.
